A hair transplant package in Turkey usually includes the consultation, pre-operative blood tests, the procedure itself, medication, an aftercare kit, the first wash, a few hotel nights and airport transfers. Flights, a second session and long-term hair-loss medication are usually extra, and PRP and sedation vary from clinic to clinic. The package describes the trip; it does not tell you who will operate on you.

What a typical hair transplant package includes
This table is a general guide to what Turkish clinics commonly advertise in hair transplant packages, not a survey of quotes. Inclusions differ, so check yours line by line.
| Item | Usually in the package? | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Online assessment from your photos | Usually included | Who reviewed the photos: a doctor or a sales adviser? |
| In-person consultation and hairline design | Usually included | That you meet the doctor in person before surgery starts |
| Pre-operative blood tests | Usually included | What happens, and what you pay, if a result rules surgery out |
| The procedure (FUE, Sapphire FUE or DHI) under local anaesthetic | Usually included | Technique and estimated graft range written on the quote |
| Sedation | Varies, often an add-on | Whether an anaesthesiologist will be present |
| Medication | Usually included | What you take home and for how long |
| Aftercare kit: shampoo, lotion and similar products | Usually included | Enough for the first weeks at home |
| First wash at the clinic | Usually included | Which day it falls on, so you can book your flight |
| PRP session | Varies | How many sessions, and whether it is included or charged separately |
| Hotel nights | Usually included, often two to four | Number of nights, hotel name, and whether a companion stays free |
| Airport, hotel and clinic transfers | Usually included | Every journey, including the first-wash day |
| Interpreter or patient coordinator | Usually included | Whether they are present during the consultation and consent |
| Remote follow-up by photo | Usually included | Who reviews your photos and for how many months |
| Flights | Usually extra | Book them after the clinic confirms your schedule |
| Long-term hair-loss medication | Usually extra | Discuss with your doctor at home |
| Guarantee or warranty certificate | Varies | What it covers in writing, such as a revision session, and its conditions. It cannot promise how your hair will grow |
| Second session or touch-up | Usually extra | Any written terms for a further session and what it would cost |

How much does a package cost?
All-inclusive FUE packages in Turkey start from around €1,200. Sapphire FUE and DHI usually cost more, and the final figure depends on the extent of your hair loss, the clinic and what the package includes. Our hair transplant in Turkey page shows current price ranges by technique, and the Istanbul page shows what quotes there typically look like.
When two quotes differ a lot, compare the line items before the totals. For comparison, the NHS says a hair transplant in the UK can cost anywhere between £1,000 and £30,000, and that it is not available on the NHS because it is cosmetic surgery (NHS).
What “unlimited grafts” means
“Unlimited grafts” is a pricing term: the package price stays the same whatever number of grafts is used in one session. It does not mean the clinic can take as many grafts as you want. The number that can be taken safely is limited by your donor area, and the NHS notes that if a large area is being treated, “you may need to have 2 or more sessions on different days” (NHS).
Ask for an estimated graft range and the technique in writing. Turkish rules already require the clinic to record the technique, the number of grafts implanted and the names of the team on a patient information form in the Ministry of Health system (Regulation on Hair Transplant Units, Article 10). Asking for the same details on your quote is a reasonable request.
What a “VIP” package usually adds
There is no official definition of a VIP hair transplant package, and the Turkish hair transplant regulation does not define package tiers. In practice, VIP usually means upgrades around the operation: a better hotel or more nights, private transfers, a companion’s stay, sedation or PRP, and a dedicated coordinator.
These can make the trip more comfortable, but they do not change the medical side, so check the same things on a VIP quote as on a standard one. If sedation is part of the upgrade, note that Turkish rules require an anaesthesiology and reanimation specialist to be present when the procedure is carried out under sedation or general anaesthesia (Article 9(5)).
Who actually performs the surgery? What Turkish law says
Hair transplants in Turkey are governed by the Regulation on Hair Transplant Units (Official Gazette, 6 May 2023, No. 32182), amended in November 2023 and September 2025. As it currently stands:
- A hair transplant unit can only operate inside a licensed health facility, with an activity permit from the provincial health directorate (Articles 5 and 6).
- Opening the recipient channels may only be done by authorised doctors: doctors holding the hair transplant practitioner certificate, plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and doctors certified in medical aesthetics (Article 9(3)).
- Extracting the follicles and placing them into the channels may be done by those doctors or by health professionals, such as nurses, who hold a hair transplant assistant practitioner certificate, working under a doctor’s supervision and responsibility (Article 9(3) and (4)). Health professionals without that certificate may keep working under supervision until 31 December 2026 (Temporary Article 1, as amended in 2025).
- One doctor may be responsible for up to five procedure rooms, each with at least two certified assistants, and each room may treat only one patient at a time (Articles 9(6) and 10(4)).
Separately, clinics and intermediary companies working with international patients must hold a health tourism authorisation certificate (Regulation of 26 April 2025, Article 5). You can check a clinic against the Ministry list.
The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) sets a stricter standard than Turkish law. It says surgery planning and execution, “including donor hair harvesting, hairline design, and recipient site creation”, should be done by a licensed physician, and that “a licensed provider knowledgeable in the field of hair restoration must perform all surgical incisions or excisions” (ISHRS consumer alert). Its Fight the FIGHT campaign names Turkey among the countries where some clinics lure patients with “misleading advertising claims promising low prices and guaranteed results”.
In other words, a fully compliant Turkish clinic may still have certified assistants extract your grafts. Decide whether you accept that before you pay, not on the day.
Questions to ask before you accept a quote
- Who will assess my hair loss and design my hairline, and what are their qualifications?
- Who will extract the grafts, open the channels and place the grafts? Please name each person and their role.
- How many patients is the responsible doctor overseeing on my surgery day?
- What is my estimated graft range and technique, in writing?
- What is the clinic’s legal name, and does it hold a hair transplant unit permit and the health tourism authorisation certificate?
- Is sedation used, and if so, will an anaesthesiologist be present?
- Which items in the package are included, and which are extra?
- What follow-up do you provide, for how long, and what happens if I need a second session?
The ISHRS suggests similar questions, including “Will anyone not licensed by the state be making incisions or harvesting grafts during my surgery?” (ISHRS). The NHS advice on surgery abroad adds three simple rules for holiday-style packages: have a consultation with the surgeon (avoid meetings only with sales people), do not pay for a hospital you have never seen, and do not pay to see a surgeon you have not met (NHS).
Before you book
- Talk to a doctor at home first. The UK Foreign Office advises discussing plans with your UK doctor before going ahead, and notes that private companies have a financial interest in booking your treatment (FCDO).
- Plan aftercare. The NHS warns that overseas clinics may not provide follow-up treatment, or may not provide it to the same standard as in the UK (NHS).
- Set expectations on timing. The NHS says new hair usually starts to appear after about four months and the full result should be seen after 10 to 18 months (NHS).
Frequently Asked Questions
What is usually included in a hair transplant package in Turkey?
Packages commonly advertise a consultation, pre-operative blood tests, the procedure under local anaesthetic, medication, an aftercare kit, the first wash, a few hotel nights and transfers. Flights, long-term hair-loss medication and any second session are usually extra. PRP and sedation vary, so check the itemised quote.
What does a VIP hair transplant package include?
There is no official definition. VIP usually means upgrades around the operation, such as a better hotel, private transfers, a companion’s stay, sedation or PRP. It does not change who performs each step of the surgery, so ask for that in writing whichever package you choose.
Does unlimited grafts mean I get as many grafts as I want?
No. The number of grafts that can be taken safely is limited by your donor area, and the NHS notes that a large area may need two or more sessions. Treat unlimited as a pricing term and ask for an estimated graft range and technique in writing.
Is a hair transplant in Turkey performed by a doctor?
Turkish law requires the channel-opening stage to be done by an authorised doctor. Graft extraction and placement may be done by the doctor or by certified health professionals working under the doctor’s supervision and responsibility. The ISHRS recommends that a licensed physician performs harvesting, hairline design and recipient sites, so ask the clinic who will do each step.
How much does a hair transplant package in Turkey cost?
All-inclusive FUE packages start from around €1,200. The final price depends on the technique, the extent of hair loss, the clinic and what the package includes, so compare itemised quotes rather than headline prices.
